About Us
Welcome to the official website of VIT Society, It promotes rigorous research and development of interactive and adaptive learning environments for learners of all ages, across all domains. Our main goal is to provide awareness, support, facilities and work for the development of research and educational activities for the service of mankind and the advancement of general welfare.
The VIT Society is a national level development organisation directly benefitting children and their families every year, through welfare projects on education, healthcare, livelihood and women empowerment, in more remote villages and slums across 25 states of India.
Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one's awareness on a range of issues – from healthcare to appropriate social behaviour to understanding one's rights – and in the process help him/her evolve as a better citizen.
Doubtless, education is the most powerful catalyst for social transformation. But child education cannot be done in isolation. A child will go to school only if the family, particularly the mother, is assured of healthcare and empowered. Moreover, when an elder sibling is relevantly skilled to be employable and begins earning, the journey of empowerment continues beyond the present generation.
Our Vision
Plan’s vision is of a world in which all children realise their full potential in societies which respect people’s rights and dignity. It is an independent organisation, with no religious, political or governmental affiliations.
Our Mission
Plan aims to achieve lasting improvements in the quality of life of deprived children in developing countries through a process that unites people across cultures and adds meaning and value to their lives by:
- Enabling deprived children, their families and their communities to meet their basic needs and to increase their ability to participate in and benefit from their societies.
- Building relationships to increase understanding and unity among peoples of different cultures and countries.
- Promoting the rights and interests of the world's children
Our Goal
Our goal is to be the leading child development organisation in India, known for its credibility and the lasting impact it creates in the lives of vulnerable and excluded children and their communities. Plan India's programmes looks to reach out to two million children directly and five million children indirectly through advocacy and policy influence.
